Start your morning at the Dyess Visitor Center Memorial Park, located just outside the base, for an overview of Base and its history. 

Head downtown and tour the 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum.

Lunch at Perini Ranch Steakhouse in Buffalo Gap or on your own.

After lunch, head to the Buffalo Gap Historic Village for an adventure back into the days of the founding of the area. The Village consists of 21 buildings, most over 100 years old.

Spend the day in historic downtown Abilene. Start at Frontier Texas! visitor center, tour the attraction and pick up a Historic Walking Tour brochure.  Walk down the street to The Grace Museum. Don’t forget to visit The Center for Contemporary Arts, National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, 12th Armored Division Memorial Museum and the Paramount Theatre.

Lunch on your own at one of downtown's many restaurants. From the casual to the elegant, you will find lots to tempt your palate.
After lunch, browse and shop the unique shops in downtown.

   
3. Spend the day on your own shopping in Abilene and the surrounding areas. An antique guide to Abilene is available to help plan your day.
   
4. Have a luncheon and style show followed by jewelry making demonstrations. Create a something special as a conference souvenir.
   
5. Enjoy a class of pottery making at one of Abilene's pottery shops. Take your masterpiece home with you.
