On the first Saturday of each month, join the Big Country Master Naturalists at Abilene State Park for a 5-mile hike around Lake Abilene. You will need to obtain an entrance permit at the park headquarters. We will meet at the first parking lot by the lake entrance. Please wear comfortable walking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring plenty of water.

This is the only way we can guaranty the design that you are wanting. *Registration will close 24 hours in advance so that we can prepare the projects. The 23rd annual July 4th parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. (starting at the corner of Bacon & Campus Court) followed by homemade & Blue Bell ice cream in the MPR.
Buffalo Gap 4th of July Parade

Fellowship, family, and fun! No entry fee. Entrants gather at the Church of Christ at 8:30 AM – parade route will go behind the elementary school and end at Old Settlers’ Reunion. Sponsored by the Buffalo Gap Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Buffalo Gap.

Fourth of July Patriotic Concert

Heavenly Rest’s Annual Fourth of July Patriotic Concert will be held Monday, July 4th at 7:00 p.m. on the east lawn.The Abilene Community Band will play favorite and familiar patriotic songs. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs, blankets, snacks, and coolers (non-alcoholic beverages, please).Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
