Join us as we kick off Tolkien week in the Swenson House Gardens and celebrate Hobbit Day, Bilbo’s Birthday, and the 70th Anniversary of the publication of The Fellowship of the Ring. This is a FREE community event. We will have food trucks, free costume contest, music, arts & crafts vendors, books and LOTR/Hobbit merchandise and baked treats for sale, complementary photo booth, readings of The Hobbit in the Swenson Garden, lawn games, and much more! Bring your family and friends, a lawn blanket or chairs, and stay a while! Please note, this IS Texas and while costumes are encouraged, FOOTWEAR is required for everyone's safety, especially that of your little halflings.
