IMPORTANT: A princess' work is never finished! Due to unforeseen film scheduling conflicts, Laura Osnes has become unavailable to travel to Texas this fall (but you can catch her in a Hallmark holiday flick - you heard it here first!).

But never fear! A new date for Broadway Princess Party is set for Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020.

All current ticket holders will be guaranteed their same seating selections for this new date and will receive a special surprise when they arrive at the show. Those who are unable to attend on the rescheduled date may contact by Oct. 31, 2019.

Abilene will welcome thespian royalty when Broadway Princess Party hits the stage in the fairy-tale setting of the historic Paramount Theatre Saturday, Oct. 5.

The family-friendly 90-minute show offers an enchanted evening with the original Cinderella, Belle and Jasmine from the Broadway productions. The performers will bring considerable princess power to the Paramount, singing magical music and sharing candid tales about make-believe imperial life.

The cast features two-time Tony Award-nominee Laura Osnes, who originated the title role in the 2012 Broadway production of Rogers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella; Broadway beauty Susan Egan, who received Tony Award and Drama Desk Award nominations for “Best Actress in a Musical” as Belle in Beauty and the Beast; and Grammy-nominated Courtney Reed, who played Princess Jasmine in Disney's stage production of Aladdin on Broadway and London's West End.

Abilene’s show will be the production’s only performance in Texas this season, and Broadway Princess Party is the inaugural event for Abilene’s new Highmont Events, which touts its mission as elevating culture and enriching community one show at a time in the Storybook Capital of America.

Highmont Events founder Melissa Noonan says she was charmed by the concept.

“Anyone age 8 through 101 will find something to love in this show,” she said. “College students and young adults especially adore it, naturally. They’re the generations who grew up empowered by Disney heroines.”

It’s a chance to play princess for a day. Costumes, cosplay, and Disneybounding are welcomed and encouraged. Fortunately, for all of us commoners, fall is an easy time to find royal attire, with party shops, Halloween stores and discount outlets offering tiaras and gowns. We even found a costume coupon and promo code.

When you order show tickets, check out the add-on option for a meet and greet with the monarchy. It’s an opportunity to snap a photo with the princess posse on the Paramount stage after the show. You'll also get a signed poster commemorating the event, along with and a lanyard and VIP badge.

What’s more, a couple local hotels have joined the realm, offering special prices for noble treatment. Guests can pamper their inner princess with special pricing on an overnight room (king or double queen), receive a refreshing Princess Potion at check-in, summon a complimentary shuttle to and from the theatre, and dine in a private breakfast area the following morning.

Pamper yourself with a spa or shopping day or book a limo for the night.

The downtown cultural district kingdom offers several courtly cocktail and dining options. Try happy hour at The Hallows or Amendment 21, or dinner at Vagabond Pizza, Cypress Street Station, the Beehive Restaurant & Saloon. Sweets at Candies by Vletas or coffee at Monk’s Coffee Shop. For a group, rent a silo at the charming Mill Wine Bar & Event Center. Download this handy brochure loaded with options.

Truly, Abilene is bursting with fun during the upcoming weeks. Find Broadway Princess Party and more on the ACVB’s calendar.
