Co-Ed Volleyball: Everything You Need to Know

Get ready to spike, set, and score at Corporate Olympics Co-Ed Volleyball (sponsored by Clark Nissan and Hall Air Conditioning) held at the Dodge Jones Youth Sports Center on Saturday, October 7th. Before you jump in, let's go through the essential information, guidelines, and rules you need to be aware of. This article will help you prepare for an engaging and enjoyable sports experience.
Team Composition and Gender Specifications
Minimum of 6 players per team
A minimum of 2 females must be always on the court
Match Structure
Pool Matches will be 1 set to 25 points (win by 1) Or 20-Minute time limit whichever comes first
- Bracket Matches will be 2 out of 3 sets to 15 points (win by 1)
Position Rotation Rules
- Rotation is required and should be done in a clockwise direction on each serve.
- The "out of rotation" rule is waived if the clockwise movement is maintained and the serving order is maintained.
Qualifying for Bracket Play
The top 2 teams from each 3-team pool will advance to a single elimination Bracket play.
Awards and Points
- Points are awarded for 1st to 10th place, with 10 points going to the winner and 1 point to the 10th place team.
- A 2X multiplier applies to all points.
Referees and Tournament Assistance
- One UP referee will be provided for each match.
- The team that is not playing during Pool Play will call lines and provide a down ref. (2-line judges and 1 down referee)
-For Bracket Play the work team is noted in red in the brackets and you must provide 2-line judges and 1 down referee. IF no work team is available as noted on the Bracket by “NO WORK TEAM” Then each team will call lines for their side and the UP ref will handle the other duties. REMINDER-If you lose a match, you will referee the next match so do not leave!
Timeouts
- Each team can utilize 1 timeout per set.
