Established in 2003, the Abilene Sports Alliance is a dynamic committee operating under the Abilene Convention & Visitors Bureau, affiliated with the Chamber of Commerce. Our primary mission is to enhance the sports landscape in Abilene by fostering community engagement, promoting athleticism, and providing opportunities for growth and development.
Who We Are:
We are a dedicated group of individuals united by a passion for sports and a commitment to the betterment of our community. Our Steering Committee, comprising three key subcommittees—Grant, Scholarship, and Corporate Olympics Organizing Committee—works tirelessly to drive initiatives that make a lasting impact.
Our Goals:
1. Increase Participation: We strive to boost involvement in existing events, ensuring a thriving sports community in Abilene.
2. Establish New Events: By introducing innovative sporting events and tournaments, we aim to diversify the sports landscape and attract a broader audience.
3. Empower Athletes: Offering scholarships to local athletes is at the heart of our mission, providing educational opportunities and supporting their pursuit of excellence.
4. Local Engagement: We believe in the power of community. To ensure successful events, we select enthusiastic local contacts for each sport, fostering a sense of pride and ownership.
